Answers:

    Examination Centres

  1. Why am I not allocated to the examination centres according to my choice of district?

Candidates were informed of the arrangements on examination centres in the ‘Instructions to Applicants’ of the 2012 HKDSE Examination, which states that they may choose the examination centre district but they will only be allocated to the examination centre district of their choice if sufficient accommodation is available. Otherwise, they will be allocated to centres in the nearest district.

Candidates should note that the choice of examination centre district does not apply to subjects with small entries, practical examinations and speaking examinations. For speaking examinations, candidates may be allocated to an examination centre which is not located in the chosen examination centre district, the purpose of which is to evenly distribute candidates with different language abilities to different districts.

  2. I don’t know how to get to an examination centre. May I request the HKEAA to provide the contact number of the school for enquiry?

The addresses of the examination centres that you have been allocated to are stated on your Admission Form. During the examination period, you may check out the location map of each examination centre on the HKEAA website. For details of the public transport, you may consult the respective transport companies. The useful telephone numbers are listed in the “Handbook for Candidates”. Candidates are requested not to call the school office of the examination centre.
