A webinar was held on 15 March 2024 to provide updates on the HKDSE and introduce the feedback services for teachers and students for Mainland schools offering the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) curriculum, including the Mainland schools that have been approved to become HKDSE participating school.

March 2024 APAIE Conference and Exhibition

To enhance the international recognition of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), a delegation from the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) participated in the 2024 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition in Perth, Australia, in early March 2024. At the conference, the delegation, led by Secretary General Professor Wei Xiang-dong, set up a dedicated booth to provide information and engage with representatives from over 250 overseas higher education institutions. We took this opportunity to encourage the institutions to admit Hong Kong students directly based on their HKDSE results and provide relevant admission requirements, which would be published on the HKEAA website for the candidates’ reference. These institutions represented over 20 countries in Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific region, as well as countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Kazakhstan.

To further promote the HKDSE, a luncheon reception was organised on 7 March, with the participation of about 40 representatives from overseas institutions. The luncheon was graced by the presence of Dr Choi Yuk-lin, the Secretary for Education, who delivered a speech highlighting the merits of the HKDSE. During a panel discussion, Professor Wei and our representatives also exchanged views with the guests on the recent development of the HKDSE.
