- The following School-based Assessment Sample Assessment Tasks were developed by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority.
- These Sample Assessment Tasks are set with reference to the New Senior Secondary Mathematics Curriculum (Compulsory Part) and can provide opportunities for enhancing students' various mathematical skills and abilities. Although School-based Assessment is not being implemented in Mathematics in the 2012 HKDSE, teachers are encouraged to conduct School-based Assessment activities as an integral part of learning and teaching and internal assessment as recommended in the curriculum and assessment guide. Teachers may refer to the School-based Assessment Handbook (Trial Version) for further information about the assessment activities in Mathematics.
- Teachers may make reference to the Sample Assessment Tasks and develop their own tasks to cater for the ability levels of their students.
- There are three types of Sample Assessment Tasks: Problem-solving, Mathematical Investigation and Data Handling.
- The assessment scales and marking guidelines are provided to assist teachers in setting and marking their own tasks. They should be read under the guidance of the teachers.
- Teachers may use the Sample Assessment Tasks for non-profit making educational and research purposes with proper acknowledgement.
