Assessment Literacy Training on Marking (ALT) 2025/26

Assessment Literacy Training on Marking
Course description:

Quality marking is an essential element for the validity, reliability, and fairness of a test. Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) proudly presents the Assessment Literacy Training (ALT) on Marking for secondary school teachers with a view to enriching them the knowledge about the theories, principles and good practices of marking. In this training course, subject experts will introduce different approaches to design the marking scheme and to share with the participants their valuable experience in the marking scheme development, selection of sample scripts, standardisation of marking, and diagnosis of potential issues.

The training uses authentic Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) examples to illustrate to participants the assessment standards required for the HKDSE and considerations taken in developing and applying the assessment standards. Participants will also be engaged in marking practices adopted in the HKDSE.
