2010

  • Last HKCEE for school candidates (relevant news, Apple Daily 23 July 2010)
  • Introduced screen reader for candidates with visual impairment and specific learning disabilities
  • Confirmed with the UK’s Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) on tariffs for HKDSE Category A subjects
  • Expanded Quality Assessment Management Accreditation Scheme (QAMAS) to all primary and secondary schools
  • Administered about 200 international and professional examinations for around 300,000 candidates

2011

  • Last HKCEE for private candidates
  • Implemented the Public Examinations Communication and Support System (PECSS), the Attendance and Script Tracking System (ASTS), and the Oral Recording System (ORS) in HKALE
  • Launched the HKDSE Online Services and the DSE Express blog

2012


  • 73,074 candidates participated in the first HKDSE
  • Last HKALE for school candidates
  • Launched the HKDSE mobile app

2013

  • Last HKALE for private candidates
  • Set up on-campus Assessment Centres in Sha Tin and Tseung Kwan O
  • Released progress report on the New Academic Structure review together with the Education Bureau (EDB) and the Curriculum Development Council (CDC)

2014

  • Honoured with runner-up in The Ombudsman’s Awards for Public Organisations and Gold Award in Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme
  • Joined the EDB and the CDC for the consultation on the ‘New Academic Structure Medium-term Review and Beyond’

  • In-house scanning centre commenced operations for better quality assurance in scripts processing

2015

  • HKDSE App won the Best m-Government Service Award (International - Education Sector) organised by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government
  • Completed the ‘New Academic Structure Medium-term Review and Beyond’ and revised the School-based Assessment and content in the HKDSE

2016


  • Published ‘The Management of Public Examinations: 101 Questions and Answers’, providing a comprehensive introduction to the operation and management of public examinations
  • Over 250 institutions across the world recognise the HKDSE

2017

  • Implementing speech-to-text software for eligible candidates with specific learning difficulties in HKDSE Liberal Studies examination
