- Must all SBA school coordinators attend the inter-school meeting at the end of the school year?
This meeting is for professional development and sharing and teachers will benefit from attending it. All SBA school coordinators should attend these meetings chaired by their District Coordinators.
- Must teachers change their marks after the inter-school meeting?
No. This meeting is for professional development and sharing of good practice among schools within a district. Teachers will not be forced to change their marks.
- Will teachers infringe copyright if they show films or documentaries in class?
Video recordings from television broadcasts can be used for educational purposes without infringing copyright. For details, please refer to the Appendix, Notes on Copyright and End-user Agreement, of the Recommended Texts for the SBA Component.
- Why do teachers and students need to sign the Assessment Record?
Students are required to sign and declare that they have read/viewed appropriate texts for the assessment and that the work is entirely their own. Teachers need to declare that they are the students' subject teacher, that the texts used are appropriate, and that the assessment has been undertaken under specified mandatory assessment conditions. These declarations are very important for the authentication of the SBA.
- How will the SBA marks be submitted to the HKEAA?
SBA marks will need to be submitted at the end of S6 via an SBA mark submission system. The HKEAA will run briefing sessions for teachers and school administrators on the logistics of the mark submission procedures in due course.
