  Smooth administration
of 2010 HKCEE & HKALE

The two-month long public examinations will finally come to an end in two weeks with the last oral test being held on 28 June 2010.

Despite an increase in candidature, the two examinations have run smoothly. Credit must be given to everyone who has played a part in ensuring the seamless connections between every process that went into creating and delivering the examinations, from school teachers, question setters, invigilators to markers, and, needless to say, our 167,000 candidates.

This year, with the opening of the fourth assessment centre in Sheung Shui, which provides 190 additional work stations, a total of 17 HKCEE and HKALE papers will be marked on screen, involving some 3,800 markers and 1,200 marking assistants.

Exam results will be released on 30 June 2010 for HKALE and 4 August 2010 for HKCEE.
  Information packages to help
understanding of SRR in the HKDSE

The HKEAA has published a set of Information Packages, which contains the assessment framework, level descriptors, sample papers and suggested answers/ marking guidelines, as well as exemplars of students' work, to help students, teachers and employers understand the standard and results reporting system of the HKDSE. The Information Packages will be a useful tool for goal setting, assessment of learning progress, understanding of examination requirements and recognition of levels of performance.

The standards-referenced reporting (SRR) will be implemented in four core subjects and 20 elective subjects in the HKDSE in 2012. Please click here to learn more about the Information Packages.

The Packages are available for sale at HKEAA online bookstore, and at HKEAA offices in Wanchai and San Po Kong.

  HKDSE information seminars

The first seminar will be offered to student counselors on 10 July, followed by a session on 23 July for parents and teachers. There will also be a seminar targeted at human resources professionals and employers on 12 August.

Topics include the NSS curriculum, assessment methods, the standards referenced results reporting system, as well as recognition of the qualification by various sectors. More details will be announced nearer to the date, and if you have any enquiries please
