New Publication on Quality Assurance Framework

Candidates will be sitting the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination for the first time in 2012. To help schools, parents and students have a better understanding of the quality assurance of the HKDSE Examination, the HKEAA has recently published a new booklet entitled: “HKDSE Examination – Quality Assurance Framework”.

Both simplified and full versions of the booklet are available. The simplified version is designed to provide an overview of the quality assurance framework and will be distributed to students who will be the first cohort of candidates next year (i.e. Secondary 5 students in the current school year). The full version is targeted at schools and teachers. It includes more details regarding the provision of relevant quality assurance measures in different core examination processes within the HKDSE Examination.

While candidates and their parents will receive the booklet from their schools, it will also be available to the public at 66 public libraries throughout Hong Kong.

Both versions are also available on the HKEAA website, please click here for more details.

  New Liberal Studies website

Liberal Studies (LS) is one of the core subjects of the New Senior Secondany (NSS) curriculum. In order to help teachers and students in their teaching and preparation for the examination, as well as to help them gain a better understanding of assessment requirements, the HKEAA has launched a dedicated webpage, "Public Assessment of HKDSE Liberal Studies". The webpage features the latest news and events, sample question papers, exemplars to demonstrate different levels of performance and School-based Assessment (SBA) sample tasks.

Other resources to be found on the webpage include the assessment framework, the format and content of the examination, marking and grading, School-based Assessment and the Standards-referenced Reporting of results.
