Enhancing the International Recognition of the HKDSE
The HKDSE has been an important credential for senior secondary graduates, offering multiple pathways and opportunities for those who wish to pursue further education or develop a career. Since 2012, nearly 850,000 senior secondary graduates have embarked on enriching learning and life journeys with their HKDSE qualification.
To expand the HKDSE's international recognition, the HKEAA delegation participated in the 2024 European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition, held in Toulouse, France, from September 17 to 20.
Led by Secretary General Prof Wei Xiang-dong, the delegation set up a dedicated booth to promote the HKDSE to tertiary institutions and academic organisations from about 60 countries/regions across the world. In addition, together with Dr Choi Yuk-lin, the Secretary for Education and the delegation from Hong Kong universities, HKEAA delegates also met with representatives of the EAIE, the France Universités and presidents of esteemed French universities to introduce the latest developments and advantages of the HKDSE.
To further promote the HKDSE, a luncheon reception was organised during the conference, attended by about 30 representatives from institutions in Continental Europe. The luncheon was graced by the presence of Dr Choi Yuk-lin; Prof James Tang, Secretary General of the University Grants Committee; and Prof Alan Au, Vice President of Hong Kong Metropolitan University. During the luncheon, Prof Wei and our representatives discussed the developments and recognition of the HKDSE.
