An interim resumption arrangement will be implemented for the 2024 HKDSE, in which the public examination and School-based Assessment (SBA) requirements of 19 elective subjects will be adjusted. The HKDSE has been an important qualification for senior secondary students furthering their studies locally or overseas, or pursuing a career. In addition to local tertiary institutions, higher education institutions from the Mainland and worldwide have indicated their acceptance of students with HKDSE qualification. Starting from the 2025 HKDSE, Cambridge Assessment International Education Advanced Subsidiary level question papers will no longer be used for Category C (Other Languages) subjects. Instead, HKDSE candidates will be required to take stipulated official language examinations of French, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Read the press release and relevant webpage for details.

The HKEAA has published the Level Descriptors and Samples of Student Performance for the 2024 HKDSE Citizenship and Social Development. Following the revised Assessment Framework for Chinese Language, the Subject Descriptors and Writing Descriptors have been updated, and the Sample Paper and Samples of Student Performance for Paper 2 Section A Practical Writing are also available for teachers and students’ reference.
