FAQ on SBA - Health Management and Social Care
Question:
How can we minimize the extra workload associated with the SBA of HMSC?
Answer:
In designing the HMSC curriculum, 108 hrs of lesson time has been assigned for the elective modules that are sustained by the 2 SBA tasks designed. Thus, the SBA tasks should not be regarded as an "add-on" element. Instead, they play an important role to interrelate the curriculum design, the embedded pedagogy and assessment. SBA serves to motivate students to be engaged in the learning activities of the elective modules, for which we believe 108 hrs is more than enough. The alignment of SBA task 1 (Field Learning Task) with the LWL (Service Learning Experience) may also help to tackle the workload issue.
