The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) Examinations are offered through the Hong Kong Dance Federation in Hong Kong and the HKEAA is appointed to administer the examinations in Hong Kong.

The CSTD Examinations are held twice a year, viz, in July and December. Details regarding the examination will be announced approximately three months before the scheduled examination date.

In July 2012, the examination dates and registration deadline were as follows:

Only holders of CSTD Teacher's Certificate / Diploma or eligible teaching certificates may enter candidates for the examinations. No private candidates are allowed to enter themselves.

The HKEAA will send letters and registration documents to all eligible CSTD teachers before the registration starts.

Examination Fees

Teachers may obtain a set of the CSTD Examination Syllabus with details on the examination conditions, examination requirements, official uniform and age requirements etc, from the Hong Kong Dance Federation.

Personal data of candidates are used for delivery of examination services. The provision of the requested personal data is voluntary. If any of the data is inaccurate or incomplete, the HKEAA may not be able to accept the entry. The personal data submitted may also be used for: (a) assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in their processes for admissions purposes; (b) certifying candidates’ examination results in response to legitimate requests; (c) assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organisations in respect of their requests for information in granting scholarships/financial assistance or other forms of subsidization; (d) conducting educational research and analysis in an anonymous format in which the identities of candidates are not traceable; and (e) providing information related to the examination concerned to the candidates/parents or applicants.

In compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, access to all personal data will be made available, on payment of a fee, to anyone who can establish his/her right to be informed of such data as are retained by the HKEAA. Please also note that candidates’ personal data/correspondence/other information received by the HKEAA may be referred to the Examination Board concerned. In general, upon completion of an examination, all such data should be at the disposal of the Examination Board.
