The University of London has been examining and awarding degrees/diplomas to 'External' students. Any person interested in taking the External Degree/Diploma Examinations should first register as an external student for a University of London degree/diploma programme through the Admissions Section of the External Programme. For registration as an external student, please write to:

LLB, LLM, Computing & Information Systems, Economics, Management, Finance and the Social Science

Examinations are held annually, in May/June for most degree programmes and in September/October/November for certain finance, economics and other qualifications and some others.

Important Dates for the May/June 2010 Examinations

     15 - 31 December 2009
3. Registration in person or by a representative: 
     5 - 18 January 2010
4. Payment: 
     Local fee should be paid before entry forms are submitted.

Important Dates for the September/October/November 2010 Examinations

1. Registration Period: 
     Mid-June 2010 to mid-July 2010, registration details will be announced in early June 2010. 

Candidates are required to submit two entry forms, one for the University and one for the HKEAA. During registration period, the following registration documents can be obtained from the HKEAA San Po Kong Office.

May/June 2010 Examinations:

• Notes for Persons Entering for the Examination
• HKEAA Examination Entry Form (Valid until 18 January 2010)
• University Overseas Examination Entry Form (not available for download)
• Local Examination Fee Demand Note (not available for download)

The above registration documents, except the University entry form and the demand note, can be downloaded during the registration period.

Arrangement may also be made for the registration documents to be sent to candidates by mail. Please send a written request (stating your programme of study) with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (HK$2.2) to the Registration Office.

Personal data of candidates are used for the purpose of conducting the examination. The entry data are supplied by candidates responsible for their own entries. Whether candidates provide the requested personal data is voluntary. However, if candidates fail to provide all the data, or if any of the data are inaccurate or incomplete, the Authority may not be able to accept their entries.

The personal data may also be used for the following purposes:

1. assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in their processes for admission purposes,

2. conducting educational research and analysis in an anonymous format in which the identities of candidates are not traceable.

In compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, access to all personal data will be made available, on payment of a fee, to anyone who can establish his/her right to be informed of such data as are retained by the HKEAA.
