Kick-off ceremony to celebrate 40-year of excellence

To mark the 40th anniversary of the HKEAA and to celebrate its achievements, we are organising a series of activities to share with our stakeholders our pledge to providing quality examination and assessment services.

At the kickoff ceremony held on 17 March, Mr Rock Chen Chung-nin, Chairman of the HKEAA applauded the efforts of the Authority in upholding the principle of fairness and professionalism in delivering examinations and assessment. He also complimented on the positive results of the HKEAA public opinion survey, jointly conducted by the Public Opinion Programme of the University of Hong Kong (HKU POP) recently. Dr. Tong Chong-sze, Secretary General of the HKEAA announced the details of the anniversary programmes, aiming at promoting understanding of the development of public examinations in Hong Kong.

A special collection of examination materials of the Hong Kong Certificates Education Examinations (HKCEE) and Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), including examinations regulations, admission forms, certificates and news clippings was on display, offering visitors a glimpse of the past examinations in Hong Kong.

Visit our 40th anniversary website for the details of the kick-off ceremony and anniversary programmes, as well as the milestones of the Authority; inspirational messages from the former leaders of the HKEAA and videos on the administration of public examinations in the past and present are also featured.

Annual Stakeholders Forum

In February, nearly 30 representatives from school councils, parent teachers associations, youth groups and special educational needs (SEN) students’ concern groups joined our annual roundtable stakeholders forum. Ideas were exchanged and views were shared on the development of public examinations and assessment services with the senior management of the HKEAA.

For the fourth time the annual forum has provided opportunity for the HKEAA and various stakeholders groups to discuss matters of common concern such as the kind of support and services required to provide to schools and candidates. Stakeholders’ comments received during the forum provided valuable information to help developing long-term plans of the Authority.
