2015 HKDSE

The fourth HKDSE has just commenced. This year over 62,000 school candidates and about 12,000 private candidates have registered for the HKDSE. All the examinations will finish in May and the release of results is tentatively scheduled on 15 July 2015.

Apart from the four core subjects, Economics remains the most popular elective subject with 18,513 candidates, followed by Biology and Chemistry, each with a candidature of around 17,000.

Similar to last year, over 85 percent of the school candidates registered for two to three elective subjects apart from the four core subjects and most of them take six subjects in total.

HKDSE Micro Films: HKDSE Up Up Up

In March, three micro films on important examination regulations were released as part of candidates support initiatives. We invited students who had completed Film and Video Studies, an Applied Learning Subject as the production team for these film-making .

The process of making these micro films was an amazing experience both for our colleagues and the young film-makers, as the team involved themselves in almost every stage of the production, starting from brainstorming stories, scripts writing, directing, and filming to post production while some of our colleagues acted as invigilators in the films. This production did not only serve as proof that they could put their knowledge into practice. We also hoped that with their creativity and perspective injected into these videos, it would appeal more to our candidates.
