UK NARIC released the results of a research study in Jan 2008 comparing the HKCEE and HKALE with the GCE A Level and GCSE.

The study is based on analyses of grades achieved in HKCEE and HKALE relative to those awarded at General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCE) A Level examinations.
