The General Graded Examinations, the Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate levels of Vocational Graded Examinations held in Approved Examination Centres (AEC) take place annually in around May/June. These examinations are now referred as 'AEC Session in May/Jun'.
The Vocational Graded Examinations held in RAD Approved Venues (RAV) take place between September and December. These examinations are now referred as 'RAV Session in Sep-Dec'.

* RAD has recently reviewed its policy on minimum ages and made the following changes:
- For Approved Examination Centre (AEC) Session that takes place in May/June in Hong Kong, all candidates MUST have reached the minimum age by 1 January in the year which they take the examination according to the following implementation timetable:
- From 2013 onwards for Pre-Primary in Dance
- From 2014 onwards for Primary in Dance
- From 2015 onwards for Grade 1
- For RAD Approved Venues (RAV) Session that takes place between September and December in Hong Kong, from 2013 onwards, all candidates MUST have reached the minimum age by 1 August in the year in which they take the examination.
For Vocational Graded Examinations, candidates should pass the Examinations in the order shown above, but need not take either Foundation examinations, as these are optional. Candidates entering for the Solo Seal Award must have achieved Distinction in Advanced 2 examination.
Registration for the General Graded Examinations, Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate levels of Vocational Graded Examinations held at Approved Examination Centres takes place in January each year while that for the Vocational Graded Examinations held at RAD Approved Venues takes place from early May to early June. Candidates can ONLY be entered by Registered Teachers of the RAD. NO private candidates are allowed to enter themselves.
Every year, the HKEAA will send letters to all Registered Teachers of the RAD for the estimated number of entries to the examinations.

From 2012, teachers are able to hold Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate examinations in teachers' own studios (Approved Examination Centres), subject to enhanced minimum requirements being met.
The minimum requirements for holding Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate examinations at Approved Examination Centres can be found in Examinations Information, Rules and Regulations on RAD's website.
The current Grades 1 - 3 syllabi will cease to be examined at the end of December 2012 and the new syllabi will be examined from January 2013.

The tuition fees are set annually and are retained for the two years programme. The tuition fees are payable in 4 instalments, as shown below, via the HKEAA to RAD.

Application Process

Application for CBTS 2013 is made by sending the completed RAD's application form to the HKEAA on or before the following deadlines so that the HKEAA could deliver the applications to RAD before RAD's deadlines:

No late applications will be accepted by the HKEAA after the above deadlines.
Mentor applications must be made to the RAD UK.
Award
For those who are awarded the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies are entitled to enter candidates for examinations and presentation classes of the RAD.
Personal data of candidates are used for delivery of examination services. Whether you provide the requested personal data is voluntary. However, if you fail to provide all the data, or if any of the data are inaccurate or incomplete, the HKEAA may not be able to accept your entry. The personal data submitted may also be used for:
- assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in their processes for admissions purposes;
- assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in respect of their requests for information in granting scholarships;
- assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations to confirm the candidates' eligibility for financial assistance or other forms of subsidization, in which case, the necessary personal data of the candidates may have to be disclosed to the concerned organizations for verification;
- certifying candidates' examination results in response to legitimate requests; and
- conducting educational research and analysis in an anonymous format in which the identities of candidates are not traceable.
In compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, access to all personal data will be made available, on payment of a fee, to anyone who can establish his/her right to be informed of such data as are retained by the HKEAA. Please also note that candidates' personal data/correspondence/other information received by the HKEAA may be referred to the Examination Board concerned. Candidates should approach the Examination Board direct for their personal data/information handling policies if necessary.
