Schools which have had approval for participation in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) are indicated by "AL" under the column headed "Exam. approved for participation".

If the school is also permitted to present candidates for participation in a practical subject, this will be indicated by the abbreviation of the subject name under the column headed "Approved Practical Subjects".

Schools whose applications for first participation in the particular examination and/or presenting candidates for the particular practical subjects in 2011 are being considered are not included in this School List.
